Superior Skilled Trades is seeking HVAC Techs for a project in Brownsville, TX.

• Pay: $21.00–$31.00/hour, depending on experience
• Per Diem: $125 (work days)
• Schedule: Must be flexible to work various shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
• Position Type: Full-Time

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining HVAC, mechanical, pneumatic, and/or electrical systems. This position will work with equipment including air handlers, chilled water systems, pumps, cooling towers, ductwork, piping, filtration systems, and refrigeration equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and facility support equipment, including air handlers, chilled water systems, condenser pumps, cooling towers, valves, filters, and related equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and refrigeration-related issues.
• Perform ductwork modifications and repairs.
• Perform brazing, soldering, evacuation, and charging of various refrigerants.
• Complete water piping and insulation modifications and repairs.
• Maintain pumps, air compressors, rotating equipment, and related mechanical components.
• Work closely with engineering and management teams to maintain systems in peak operating condition.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow applicable company procedures, quality requirements, and OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, NFPA, ASME, and NEC safety standards.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of professional experience working with HVAC, pneumatic, mechanical, and/or electrical systems.
• Hands-on experience performing HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and HVAC-related equipment.
• Ability to work various shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical training in HVAC technology.
• Universal HVAC/EPA certification.
• Experience with HVAC systems, electrical safety, pneumatic systems, tubing, pipe fittings, pumps, air compressors, and mechanical fasteners.
• Experience with brazing, soldering, refrigerant evacuation, and system charging.
• Knowledge of high-pressure gas, flammable gas, and refrigeration gases.
• Experience maintaining HEPA filters and standard air handling unit (AHU) filtration systems.
• Understanding of refrigeration systems, motors, pumps, and mechanical equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Candidates must be able to perform physically demanding work in an industrial environment, including:
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Push or pull up to 75 lbs. unassisted.
• Stand for extended periods of up to 10 hours per day.
• Walk, climb ladders and stairs, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, and perform repetitive movements.
• Work in temperatures exceeding 80&degree;F.
• Safely work at heights of up to 500 feet.
• Work in confined spaces.
• Wear and safely use an air-purifying respirator when required.
• Successfully meet applicable pre-employment physical or job-function requirements.

Must have reliable transportation
